FLIGHTDECK BY SUNIMOD · IN DEVELOPMENT
Pilot records and flight preparation, designed to stay close at hand.
FlightDeck is a pilot companion being built for iPhone and Android. Keep flight entries, qualification evidence, aircraft details, trip notes, checklists and documents in one local workspace. Open the app to log a flight, review the dates in your records or pick up your next checklist.

Development status: FlightDeck is in private internal testing on iPhone and Android. It is not publicly released. The features below describe the current development build. Remaining release acceptance continues.
Keep the details that matter
Your home screen brings flight logging, recorded qualifications and preparation tools together. The logbook stores time in whole minutes and calculates totals without repeatedly rounding the underlying entries.
| Area | What you can keep or do |
|---|---|
| Flight logbook | Record dates, aircraft, routes, flight time, pilot roles, training time, landings, approaches and notes. Review totals, correct entries and inspect their revision history. |
| Qualifications | Keep supporting records for flight reviews, medical examinations, BasicMed, instructor recency, proficiency checks and other recorded deadlines. |
| Aircraft and trips | Save aircraft details, trip notes and reusable checklists. Tick checklist items as you work and reset the list for its next use. |
| Documents and photos | Attach selected files or a camera image, keep an encrypted local copy, and open or share the imported document when needed. |
| Exports and backups | Create a readable PDF or CSV logbook export, or a password-protected backup containing records, supporting files and revision history. |
See the evidence behind a deadline
FlightDeck calculates supported U.S. FAA recency and date checks from the information you record. Passenger and instrument checks use the relevant recorded flight activity; medical and recurring-check views use your recorded dates and evidence. The app explains the result and links to the applicable regulation.
Missing evidence stays visible. A calculated date does not establish that every requirement for a particular flight, aircraft, medical condition or commercial operation has been met. Your certificates, endorsements, current regulations and operator requirements remain the documents to verify.
Optional reminders are scheduled locally with your permission. They help you plan ahead; they are not a substitute for checking the underlying records.
Practical preparation tools
- Crosswind and headwind components from entered runway and wind information.
- Fuel and endurance calculations using your entered quantities and consumption.
- Weight-and-balance arithmetic using your own aircraft values and limits.
- Distance and time calculations, density-altitude estimates, and unit/time conversions.
- On-demand METAR and TAF references requested directly from the U.S. Aviation Weather Center.
Use current approved aircraft information and verify the inputs and results. Weather references need a connection and can be missing or stale. FlightDeck does not provide a complete weather briefing, flight-plan filing, navigation charts, dispatch approval or an aircraft-specific performance database.
A workspace you control
FlightDeck does not upload your pilot records to a Sunimod storage server and does not require a FlightDeck account. Record contents, revision-history contents and imported document files are encrypted locally. Internal lookup metadata remains in the local database.
When you export a PDF, CSV, document or encrypted backup, you choose where that copy goes. The app’s private workspace is excluded from automatic platform backup, so keep a separate FlightDeck backup somewhere you control. Sunimod cannot recover a lost device key or forgotten backup password.
Weather and native store billing contact their providers directly. There are no advertising or analytics SDKs in the current app.
Start Free. Add capacity with Pro.
The planned Pro price is US$6.99 per month as an auto-renewing subscription through Apple’s App Store or Google Play. The store shows the actual localized price and terms before purchase. FlightDeck is currently in development; purchases and public downloads are not offered from this page.
| Saved items | Free | Pro |
|---|---|---|
| Flights | 50 | No app count limit |
| Aircraft | 2 | No app count limit |
| Documents | 10 | No app count limit |
| Trips | 3 | No app count limit |
| Reusable checklists | 3 | No app count limit |
Existing records remain readable, editable and exportable if Pro ends or cannot be verified. Qualification visibility, corrections, exports and encrypted backup are available on Free. Device storage, the 25 MB per-document limit and backup size limits still apply with Pro.
Restore purchases through the same store account. An Apple subscription does not automatically unlock the Android app, or vice versa. Google Play may require an internet connection to verify Pro; the app does not retain a permanent Android Pro cache.
FlightDeck is taking shape
Built by Sunimod alongside MXDeck, FlightDeck focuses on keeping the pilot’s everyday records easy to find and maintain.
